primary emission data
We were the first to demonstrate that supply chain emissions can be accurately measured and managed based on a decentralized flow of primary data. Our approach allows commercial partners to collaborate on mitigation strategies with transparency and accuracy while maintaining privacy.

We have partnered with SINAI Technologies to bring primary emission data to the cloud. Building the inventory from the bottom up enables supply chain partners to allocate and manage supply chain emissions.

CarbonPrime Scope
Timeline
First Pitch
- 2019
With sponsorship from Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, the CarbonPrime team is formed around the idea that if we are supply chain partners, part of your Scope 1 and 2 Emissions are my Scope 3 and vice versa!
First Movers
- 2020
We partner with Sinai Technologies to develop a Proof of Concept. Bayer, Amaggi, and JBS are the first commercially connected supply chain players to tackle the challenge of creating a view of Scope 3 emissions using real world primary data.
Defining a Scope
- 2021
Primary emission data for 2020 is migrated to the Sinai platform and work begins on allocating emissions for facilities in Brazil. Data volume scales quickly and in order to facilitate future audits and validation, the team decides to limit the POC scope - leaving integration of primary data from other partners such as fertilizer producers and small farmers for Phase 2.
Preliminary Results
- 2022
Initial results provide strong evidence that allowing primary data to flow in the supply chain can paint a radically different view of Scope 3 intensity and should provide a strong foundation for emission mitigation investment strategies.
POC Results Announcement
- 2023
POC Results are announced and Big 4 Accounting firms are invited to audit primary data sources and allocation methodologies used.
